In about 1832, a Baptist Christian witness was established in Cookhill and other neighbouring villages, as a result of preaching teams from the historic Alcester Baptist Church.
The Baptist fellowship which grew, raised resources to construct a building and graveyard in what is now Chapel Lane Cookhill, and this was opened in 1835.
The main body of the church dates back to that time, with several
additions since, such as the schoolroom, vestry, World War 1 Memorial
porch, kitchen and facilities for the disabled.
Within the last 3 years, extensive refurbishments have taken place to include toilets and a vestibule, and further upgrades are planned.
Church services begin at 10.30 am on Sundays.
We have a weekly fellowship group who meet at church every Tuesday evening at 7.30 pm, for Bible study and prayer. All are welcome.
We also meet every Friday morning at 10.am for prayer. All are welcome to share with us.
On July 3rd 2011, Cookhill Baptist Church welcomed into ministry Pastor Bill and Joy Finnimore.
The retiring Pastor Peter Cook and his wife Gill handed over the shepherds crook after seventeen years of faithful service to the congregation, the community, the church and most of all to the Lord.
